Our final Student Council fundraiser was a little different than usual. Teachers volunteered to be tattooed. Our students did a great job raising money to see their favorite staff member get inked. The Student Council raised over $320. Here are a few shots from the event.

To build excitement as we head towards summer break, we have developed an ABC Countdown to Summer Calendar. Please see what the daily theme is. Some are dress up days and some are set for activities to take place.

We have seen success with keeping the Chromebooks in the classroom each night. There has been a huge decline in breakage and the Chromebooks are always charged for the work we are doing.

This summer, all Chromebooks will be kept at E. Green and will be moved to your child's new teacher for the start of the year.

For the 15th year, Newington Public Schools is being recognized as one of the best communities for Music Education. Please see the announcements below.

Once again, we will have a Lost and Found rack in the cafeteria and can be accessed by all students during their lunch wave. Please remind your child to check the rack if they come home without an item of clothing. If you have any questions, please email bfigueiredo@npsct.org.

Each morning, we offer breakfast to our students. If a student would like breakfast, they are able to walk to the cafe and pick up a grab-n-go breakfast bag. Breakfast is $2 in most cases. If you do not want your child to get breakfast because they are eating at home, please send a note to your child's teacher.

Universal free lunch is no longer available to all students. Families are encouraged to complete an application to determine eligibility for Free and/or Reduced Lunch. Applications can be completed on-line here. Otherwise, the cost for school lunch is $3.25 at the elementary level. Parents/Guardians may apply funds to your child’s account either online or by sending a check/cash. Checks should be made out to Newington School Cafeterias. 

All classrooms are peanut/tree nut free. A snack containing peanut/tree nut may not be eaten in the classroom. At lunch, the cafeteria has designated tables for students with peanut/tree nut allergies. Parents of children with these allergies may opt to have your child sit at this table/s. Birthdays may be acknowledged with non-food items such as stickers, pencils, or other non-food items. Food is not accepted for birthday celebrations.
