Elizabeth Green Elementary School

It is a privilege and an honor to welcome you to the Elizabeth Green School website. As the building Principal, I am proud to introduce you to our wonderful learning community.
 

My name is Kevin Doran and I am excited to be the Principal of Elizabeth Green. This is my second year at Elizabeth Green and prior to that I was the Assistant Principal at Martin Kellogg Middle School for 8 years.  There are so many great activities taking place within the Elizabeth Green community.  I am looking forward to working with all of you to provide your children the best education possible. 
  

The Elizabeth Green School, serving pre-kindergarten through grade four students and their families, is located in the northeast section of Newington, nestled in a neighborhood setting. Approximately one-third of our students live in close proximity to Elizabeth Green School and are able to walk to school every day. Recognized by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges in 1987, awarded full accreditation, as well as continued re-accreditation, Elizabeth Green School is an exemplary school, characterized by a strong sense of community and high standards in all of the work that we do. The school is typified by a warm, welcoming environment in which students, teachers, and families work together to support the positive school community. The students engage in a comprehensive educational program that develops their thinking, physical, social and communication skills, all while teaching them the joy of learning. The well-trained professional staff is dedicated to providing a learning environment to support and challenge students to reach high academic standards and develop a variety of skills that will take them into the 21st century. Small class sizes provide an ideal environment for the students to receive the optimal educational experience.
 

My goal for our students is to ensure that they are challenged in their learning and are given every opportunity to be successful.  Our staff will work diligently with your children to build the foundation they need to prosper during their Newington education experiences and beyond.  As the students move through Elizabeth Green, they will develop the skills needed to be self-directed learners and will become more engaged in their learning.  As your principal, I will see to it that your children receive the same level of education that I wanted for my own children as they grew up.  Our students deserve the best!
